Lavender Water? Reminders and concepts ...
As you all know irrigation is a fundamental question in the maintenance of the plants.
fact, there are fundamental devices for watering during the summer.
First we must take into account the temperature and wind speed.
fact very often we tend to ignore the wind, but it also, with the movement of air currents, implies an impoverishment high ground water resources.
Irrigation:
Whether it's wet the pot with a rose or a garden should always keep in mind certain factors. The soil must be more or less humid (depending on the type of plant), but the water must never stagnate.
So, this being a blog dedicated to people who operate plants at home, I intend to give little reminders and notions of what needs to be done in the right way to water the plants in a house.
First, the saucers are used to prevent leakage of water during watering. It is true that it is very convenient to leave the water and wait for the capillary rise when is needed but is not very suitable for several reasons. They bring in
mosquitoes' home. These annoying insects, in fact, lay their eggs in stagnant water which form small hatching larvae of a few mm which will become the future mosquitoes.
If the water also tight for too long there has been no benefit because the water stagnating in the saucer, it can induce marcescienza if the roots are too radical in contact with water.
Another thing to be taken into account is the root asphyxia. If the soil is saturated with water and the air is completely gone you will have several shortcomings such as the formation of nitrite in the soil, and many other unwanted bacterial growth effects that would be harmful to the plant.
How to deal:
The best techniques for a good watering are as follows:
1) Wet the soil to "sip".
This is because a good distribution of water and by the time the soil to absorb it well (avoiding an unnecessary waste of percolation).
2) Wet the soil only in the morning and / or evening.
This is critical because during the summer there would be a "bubbling" due to the high temperatures which is very harmful for plants.
3) Avoid water stagnation.
For the reasons mentioned earlier.
4) Do not wet the leaves.
seems like a trivial thing as the kind during the rain the plants are found with wet leaves, but it is good to avoid nell'annaffiatura not meet lens effect. In fact, if there is nature there are also rain clouds. Watering, the portions do not have it, and then the sunlight, passing through the water on the leaves, amplifies their potential (aka Barbara) and leads to more or less extensive burns on the leaves.
course, these things (especially the last point) almost never lead to the death of the plant (except the radical bubbling) but since you can avoid to our little friends the unnecessary stress I do not see why not commit to do so.
Thanks for reading and good day.
