Recentemente il Consiglio Comunale di Castelnuovo ha visto parte dei consiglieri di maggioranza insieme con i consiglieri dell'opposizione, uniti nel deliberare la revoca della Variante al PRG, che era stata adottata da questa Amministrazione ed era ad un passo dall'essere inoltrata alla Regione per la sua definitiva approvazione o.... bocciatura.
Lo scrivente, in vari articoli, ha sempre denunciato l'inadeguatezza complessiva dell'elaborato dell'architetto Migliaccio anche attraverso la presentazione di puntuali “osservazioni”, come presidente protempore del locale gruppo di ”Fare Verde”. Osservazioni, regolarmente respinte dalla maggioranza.

L’attenzione alle tematiche ambientali non può essere relegata solo all’interno delle aree protette ma qualsiasi progetto del territorio, qual’è anche una Variante al Piano Regolatore, deve farsi carico delle esigenze di salvaguardia dell’ambiente.
Un viaggio in auto lungo la strada Montefiore, che porta alla frazione di Pontestorto, è uno scorrere continuo di paesaggi mozzafiato e scorci mutevoli fra colline e vallate. Sapremo conservare tutto questo anche per i nostri figli?

Infatti a fronte del prevedibile ed auspicabile sviluppo economico e sociale del territorio, che verrà innescato dalla prossima apertura del casello autostradale, si dovrà pianificare uno sviluppo urbanistico integrato di questa frazione che dovrebbe gravitare intorno all'area dell'attuale campo sportivo, destinata a diventare una grande piazza con giardino, che raccorderà l'attuale abitato con la nuova zona di espansione urbanistica, che si dovrebbe sviluppare verso Colle del Fagiano e Colle Verde.
